Patch goings-on.

I took a bit of a rollicking this morning from ringer Keith,I had been hacking down the wrong bit of reeds, chopping through some of his net strings.Made amends by starting on another patch of nettles and stuff. It’s boggy(as I found out with a wellyfull), and should prove attractive to the water rails.Keith and Linda were busy ringing warblers including a cetti’s.A couple of nights ago a flock of over a thousand swallows was seen to go to roost in the reedbed.

The black-tailed godwit was still on the scrape and I watched a long awaited hobby over the works, bringing my site year list to 108 sp. (a pb)
