MSTW Dusk visit.

The reed warbler was reported again early afternoon, a fortnight since last being seen. After a maassive Sunday lunch I popped down to walk it off. I couldn’t find the rw but had a very enjoyable session. Four chiffchaffs showed at ridiculously close range.

It can be magical here at dusk, the sounds of allsorts filling the air. The impressive flock of carrion crows has now built up to 350+, surely the largest gathering in the county? There are always 100+ year-round.

The usual good number of water rails got noisier towards darkness. A barn owl hunted the reedbed area and I managed a snatch of video of a lovely fox near the works.
