Freiston and Frampton.

Wader numbers are beginning to build up nicely in the wash. I went in the hope of finding a few of the scarcer ones of which there were one or two.  I finished with twenty species of wader.

At Freiston shore a curlew sandpiper and a wood sandpiper graced the reservoir, the wood sand later moved to a wet ditch. A few whimbrels were on the saltmarsh.

A short seawatch at high tide produced, well not much really- several gannets, 9 eiders and a couple of great crested grebes. Lots of common terns were feeding, with about 300 resting on the lagoon.

A drive round to Frampton produced another wood sandpiper and half a dozen spotted redshanks amongst the many other waders.
