Another seawatch, Hutoft.
Skuas were good to see, around a dozen noted. All arctics, as far as I could tell, mostly dark phase, couple pale. No sign of the hoped-for pom, though another look later, off Wolla Bank gave up a great skua.
Gannets could be seen constantly, either fishing or passing, mostly south.
Drift migrants seem to be around now following the easterlies, a check of the bushes and scrub behind the dunes revealed a whinchat being pestered by a whitethroat. A couple of willow warblers too.
Moving down-coast to Wolla Bank, a wheatear showed in the car park while couple of redstarts, a female and a juv, were flycatching. Another whinchat and a few willow warblers completed the migrants.
A med gull sat on the beach and twenty common scoter flew north. A couple more arctic skuas chased terns and the bonxie kept resting on the water after flying around.
